29100 Update
Open-Air Worship Center
(Building-Steering Ministry Team)
As of Thursday, Noon (Mar 4, 2010):
- Our excavation and foundation subcontractors estimate that if no additional rain occurs in the next several days, they expect ground conditions to be dry enough to proceed with additional dirt and grade work so that foundation and parking form construction may begin. This will include some additional surveying work to verify elevations and reference points.
- Electrical and plumbing designs for the main structure and restrooms are proceeding and will be reviewed soon by the Construction Sub-team.
- A workday was organized by the Men’s Ministry Team on Saturday, Feb 27. Approx 20 men and women cleared the fence-row along SH-249 (the future main entrance) and pruned approx 50 live oaks that had been previously donated and were temporarily planted in this location. Many of these trees will be transplanted to the Open-Air Worship Center area, when completed, as part of the landscaping plan required by the City.
- Thus far, contributions of $231,761 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.
As of Thursday, (Feb.28, 2010)
- Our excavation and foundation subcontractors continue checking the site for dry ground conditions and monitoring weather forecasts for windows of opportunity to return with heavy equipment.
- Re-bar mats and angle pieces (steel reinforcement for concrete) have been prepared and are stacked on location for placement in foundations and concrete parking areas after forms have been constructed.
- Thus far, contributions of $227,139 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.
As of Thursday, (Feb.18, 2010)
- Excavation and dirt work at the construction area continues to be delayed due to the existing wet conditions. Our subcontractors are continually checking the site and monitoring weather forecasts for windows of opportunity to move heavy equipment back onto the site with expectation that the ground is firm enough to work and that progess made will not be washed out requiring repeated efforts.
- Re-bar mats and angle pieces (steel reinforcement for concrete) have been prepared and are stacked on location for placement after grade work has been completed and forms have been constructed for pouring the concrete foundations and parking areas.
- Fabrication of the steel structure continues at the manufacturer’s facility.
- Thus far, contributions of $228,139 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.

- Excavation work continues to be delayed due to rain and the very muddy conditions in the construction area.
- Fabrication of the steel structure is proceeding at the manufacture's facility.
- Engineering drawings for the main structure slab and for the restroom facilities have been received and are under review by the Construction Sub-Team. Also, the steeple design will be planned as a stand-alone unit adjacent to the main structure and incorporated into final landscaping and exterior finishing of the project.
- Thus far, contributions of $224,814 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.
As of Thursday, (Feb. 4, 2010)
- Excavation work continues to be delayed due to rain and the very muddy conditions in the construction area. Some additional grade work was performed to deepen previous trenches for natural drainage of the area.
- Fabrication of the steel structure is proceeding at the manufacture's facility.
- Engineering drawings for the main structure slab and for the restroom facilities have been received and are under review by the Construction Sub-Team.
- Thus far, contributions of $211,964 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.
As of Thursday, (Jan. 28, 2010)
- Excavation progress have been slow during the past two weeks due to the very muddy conditions causing equipment to become stuck. Drainage culverts from both required detenion areas have been installed and tied into the existing underground drainage system along Quinn Rd. Open trenches have been dug throughout the construction area to assist gravity drainage into the culvert system and improve drying of the area.
- Based on recent acceptance of engineering drawings for the structure, fabrication of the steel has begun.
- Thus far, contributions of $208,289 have been received toward the original cost estimate target of $380,500.
